[ - ] i'm due in 2 months with #2. #1 is going to be 2 when #2 is born. #1 has never had a babysitter and has only been away from me for a max of 2 hours - ever. is there anyway to adjust to him being away from me when #2 is born, or should we just go cold turkey? how bad is it going to be? 5 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

np: i disagree. (not saying you are wrong, just that i disagree). either the dc will be fine or he won't be fine. if he's fine, he'll be fine when you go to give birth too. if he's not fine, you'll just have a lot of guilty feelings when you have to go give birth. might as well just deal with it when the time comes. do it now before the baby is born. it is way better to set things up in some sort of routine now before it seems like that 'because the baby is here I have to go to the baby sitter' kind of thing. [ Reply | More ]

db feelings aside, it not a bad idea to start bringing in a sitter so you and dh can a little time together. Gets everyone adjusted... [ Reply | More ]

this was me 2 years ago. it was hard, i should have had a babysitter in place before #2 came along so she adjusted better. that being said, i had a baby nurse, so the transition was easier than it could have been. [ Reply | More ]

I just got some new ones at Macy's. They were Style & Co. textured towels, and so far I love them. The ones they replaced were from Lands' End, and they were great, too. They were a wedding gift, we got married 11 years ago, and only just replaced them. [ Reply | More ]

If you limit how much DC drinks two hours before bed and have them go to the bathroom the second before lights out - you should be fine. DS just turned five and just night trained. With pull-up he was lazy and he frequently woke up with a wet one. Has slept in underwear 2 weeks now and no accidents even on the night I forgot about the new rules and gave him chocolate milk before bed. [ Reply | More ]

you can put her in underwear at night now if you want as long as you don't mind changing the pee soaked sheets once a week. My ds is almost 5 and still is in a pull up at night. He's waking up dry or dryer more often than 6 mos ago but I won't take him out of the pull up til he has about 2 mos straight of dry pull ups. Older ds was night trained by 3 1/2...just random luck [ Reply | More ]

I don't want to change pee soaked sheets. I'd rather wait & continue with diapers. I wanted to see where others were and I think it is fine for a while longer [ Reply | More ]

We took our DD to the toilet just before we'd go to bed for almost a year after she was out of diapers--she'd pee without really waking up, and then make it through the night dry. Very successful, and also she was so cute. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] 2.5 y/o dd put on a traffic stopping perfromance today in the park. We were on the path surrounding the Great Lawn. Singing, dancing, arms flailing it was something. Funny that both dh and myself are total introverts and she is a total performer. Do you ever ask where your child came from? 1 Reply [ Reply | Watch | More ]

There are so many people who suffer from depression and either don't know it or just don't get help. They now view it as any other disease and you should get some help so you'll feel better. [ Reply | More ]

itda. fevers come on so suddenly. probably all was ok at that time. I'd drop it. year is almost over anyway. If the nurse called every parent every time a dc went there, then really you don't need a nurse, you need someone to call the parents. [ Reply | More ]
