i'm due in 2 months with #2. #1 is going to be 2 when #2 is born. #1 has never had a babysitter and has only been away from me for a max of 2 hours - ever. is there anyway to adjust to him being away from me when #2 is born, or should we just go cold turkey? how bad is it going to be? np: i disagree. (not saying you are wrong, just that i disagree). either the dc will be fine or he won't be fine. if he's fine, he'll be fine when you go to give birth too. if he's not fine, you'll just have a lot of guilty feelings when you have to go give birth. might as well just deal with it when the time comes. do it now before the baby is born. it is way better to set things up in some sort of routine now before it seems like that 'because the baby is here I have to go to the baby sitter' kind of thing. [ Reply | More

this was me 2 years ago. it was hard, i should have had a babysitter in place before #2 came along so she adjusted better. that being said, i had a baby nurse, so the transition was easier than it could have been. [ Reply | More
