Try addressing it in terms of expectations. A nanny's job involves a lot of walking and playing in playgrounds, typically. Comfy, active shoes are required. The rest of it you can't say anything about. It's her cleavage. [ Reply | More ]

I put it up front in the expectations statement, along with wear a watch and keep your cell phone with you when you are out. At this point, you'll just need to say something like, "I need to ask you to dress more appropriately for playing with kids" or "I worry you can't keep up with the kids in those heels... can you wear some flats for running around?" Always rough. [ Reply | More ]

you're not going to like my reply... forget it, and move on. seriously, you are me 5 years ago, and my mother was HORRIBLE to me and pushed my buttons and was incredibly mean and had no friends etc etc... At the end of the day, you cannot control anyone but yourself, and it's a lot more fun to have fun. set your boundaries. don't talk to her if she disrespects you. tell her when you will talk to her again, etc. but really... let it go and get a life for yourself [ Reply | More ]

I didn't move home (sorry, I missed that part of your post) but yes, she was bad to me... freaked out at my wedding and stopped talking to me for 5 months afterwards... and now, we get along well, but it's not because "she is nice to me" it's because I've decided to have a relationship with her. When she starts to get nasty, I immediately withdraw and don't talk to her for a week... If she's nice after the week, we talk again, if not, I give it another week. [ Reply | More ]

do make sure to drink a lot of water-you need more than you think-you should need to be peeing pretty often. When I noticed I wasn't needing to use the bathroom as often, that was when I gained a big amount (which was partly water retention I think). I've been pg 4 times, gained differently with all of them, eaten the same. The smaller gains actually took longer for me to lose, strangely. I've gained 55 (!), 28, 28, 30. Whatever.
