I had dd #1 at 31, was ready to have #2 when I was 33, but had 2 miscarriages. Had ds when I was 36. the gap was longer than I had hoped for, but has been great. #1 is independent, in school and I get to spend great time w/#2. Anyway, it's hard to plan this sort of thing, but I'm all for a bigger gap. i would have hated all those diapers! [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Weird experience. I was in Target with my dd and I was drinking a coffee. At the checkout I spilled a small amount on the floor. I told the cashier because I didn't want someone to slip. She called the manager and they both were so rude about it. The manager said, "How do we know this is coffee? How did this happen?" We paid and left but as we were walking out the door I looked back and saw both of them just standing there starring at me as if I were a criminal or something! 12 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

That's sort of funny. Annoying too of course. I was in Target (brooklyn) and saw a full on fist fight between cashier and customer. And another time saw a high speed police foot chase through the store. No one blinked an eye. Target can be a funky place. [ Reply | More ]

I was talking to someone today about this -- the realtor told them a considerably lower number than they thought they could get, and it's created a big tension for them. you must not live in pelham or spend any time talking to ppl who have elementary aged students if you do not know about the "space issue" at colonial elementary school. they are completely overcrowded, have the smallest facility (gymnasium/cafeteria/auditorium, library also is music/art room). pelham just passed a bond for an extension (which will decrease already tiny playground) because they do not have enough room. they cannot house their incoming kindergartners, one of the alternatives was to put them in a mobile classroom at siwanoy (i don't think this is the final plan though). construction for the next 1-2years. it is amazing that they do such a good job teaching the kids. The facilities are the best they can be for 4 elementary schools and a high school that are nearly 100 years old. The town overwhelmingly passed the bond for infrastructure improvements, which include the addition to Colonial school. The key to Pelham’s elementary school success is involved parents and top notch teachers at competitive pay. All the schools are very good and have equal faculty and curriculums. [ Reply | More ]
