fwiw, elementary students do not take regents. not sure what you are looking at. also, 3 out of 4 schools in pelham have virtually same test scores. they are all great. [ Reply | More ]

what are the english/math scores that are mentioned on websites. Not sure what the name of this test is. And it's more like 2 out of 4 are great. [ Reply | More ]

for the past 5 years, colonial siwanoy and prospect hill have all rotated #1 in the eng and math tests. they all have high 90% scores, they are all about equal, great schools. fwiw, colonial has such issues with space i would never choose to send my dc's there over either of the other two. FWI- as of 2206 test scores Prospect Hill's test score for English was in the 88th percentile, not " high 90" as you say. link is http://www.schooldatadirect.org/app/compareresults/q/stid=33/site=pes/llid=118/stllid=-1/locid=-1/adv=false/sel=923511/sel=923514/sel=923515 [ Reply | More ]

Also PH has a slightly great student:techer ratio, so dont really know what "space issue" you are referring to. [ Reply | More ]

you must not live in pelham or spend any time talking to ppl who have elementary aged students if you do not know about the "space issue" at colonial elementary school. they are completely overcrowded, have the smallest facility (gymnasium/cafeteria/auditorium, library also is music/art room). pelham just passed a bond for an extension (which will decrease already tiny playground) because they do not have enough room. they cannot house their incoming kindergartners, one of the alternatives was to put them in a mobile classroom at siwanoy (i don't think this is the final plan though). construction for the next 1-2years. it is amazing that they do such a good job teaching the kids. You may live in Pelham and be up on current affairs but are obviously misinformed about the concrete numbers and stats of your schools, sorry. [ Reply | More ]

i am not misinformed, these 3 schools are all great and not one is considered "the best." i know each of them has had top scores in the past few years and that they all score high. i do not need to split hairs over 94% vs 95% vs 96% (which is basically what the scores are for non-learning disabled children) [ Reply | More ]

The facilities are the best they can be for 4 elementary schools and a high school that are nearly 100 years old. The town overwhelmingly passed the bond for infrastructure improvements, which include the addition to Colonial school. The key to Pelham’s elementary school success is involved parents and top notch teachers at competitive pay. All the schools are very good and have equal faculty and curriculums. [ Reply | More ]

agree. their are space issues at both Colonial elementary and PMHS. The recent approved bond should help alleviate the problems. [ Reply | More ]
