[ - ] I have a friend whose 4 yo dd is a real brat (rude, sarcastic, smart mouth, gets in people's faces, points and says really mean and nasty things) to other kids and adults as well. Friend doesn't seem to notice or looks the other way most of the time. Would you say something to the child or friend? 23 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I can assure you that your child will one day pass on unwanted habits to another child. It works both ways (unfortunately). You need to find a way to tell your child that this isn't how you behave in your home etc. and focus more on your child than the other. [ Reply | More ]

they have been lobbying for it, and I heard from someone high in the PTA that they were successful. I am so pissed about this. they also lobbied to get only one G&T class so as not to cut into shared space. And they don't want to give sib preference to ps9. I think if a ps9 kid qualifies for naderson, or a sib of a ps9 kid, they should get preference for anderson over kids outside if they are going to get sib preference at ps9. It is outrageous. they are sucking the resources out of ps9, and pushing for everything that will harm our school. I am now going to lead a major effort to lobby to get them out of the building. Must say, I am a pretty involved PS9 parent and have never hear word one about such nonsense. Even if such a thing existed, I would assume Anderson would get preference BELOW PS9 and PS9 would have to get reciprocal pref with A. The reason there is only 1 G&T class, however, has nothing to do with Anderson lobbying and eveything to do with general lack of space and the need to not continue with four K classroom each year. np: I heard the same thing. they want the gen ed preference because they know its a great school, and it will make anderson more desirable to offer gen ed spots. problem is, that eats away at space for the G&T program at ps9, which will suffer if they continue to have only one class. I would not be for granting this preference for this reason. I want to see 2 classes for G&T next year, otherwise the school will have trouble down the line. [ Reply | More ]

you are wrong about that. they are lobbying. they want access to gen ed and G&T to accomodate themselves. for the G&T, it is not fair to D3 high scoring kids who will have fewer seats, and for the gen ed, they are creating a greater need for more gen ed classes which will harm the G&T program and further decrease space in a top G&T for D3 kids. ps9 cannot let this happen.
