what are essentials for flying to London with 3 dc under 5? We are in coach, with the bassinet for the baby. I was thinking of getting those neck pillows for the 3 and 4 yo. Are they comfy for them? We are trying to borrow a portable DVD, but if we can't, what other essentials should we bring? Our flight is at 4 pm, so they won't be quite ready to sleep. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I just had a long trip (but with only 1 DC, 4-yo) and brought lots of lightweight books, crayons and those activity pads with writing games and simple puzzles, DH's compputer with DVD drive, and it was fine. The only thing I could have used was a deck of cards to play go fish or something. [ Reply | More ]

I wrote this to another post, but the "secret" backpack with things they've never seen before is what I have success with... the standard stuff to color with, magnetic games, finger puppets, and the DVD ! The other woman was right on with that... get the DVD by hook or by crook ! And my kids don't get to open the backpack before the flight... [ Reply | More ]

What airline are you flying? Are you sure they still do the bassinets? I know American Airlines does not do them anymore. But AA has outfitted many of their planes with the individual screens which always have kids' movies. It's worth a call so you don't feel the need to lug a dvd player with you. [ Reply | More ]
