[ - ] Is afternoon preschool okay for an almost 2 year old? DS will be 22 months when it starts. I like the idea of not rushing around in the morning becaue my DS does like to sleep late, but I'm worried that he will be miserable without a nap. It's not actually preschool, it's just a preschool run playgroup, so it's only 1 day a week. Will going to bed early & sleeping extra long the next day be enough for him? 8 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

We enrolled our 2yr old in an afternoon preschool program this year. He did well: relax/nap for 45 minutes right before school or a micro nap after school. He eventually grew out of his nap--so even on non-school days he goes napless. [ Reply | More ]

He will get used to it, kids do adjust. My kids had dropped their afternoon nap at that age, but they do go to bed by 7pm, but wake up early 7am at the latest. Since yours sleeps late, I think he will be fine. He will certainly not be miserable during the playgroup/class since he will love to be with other kids and play with the toys there. Afterwards he may be tired and apt to sleep early. [ Reply | More ]

from what i have read if you have your first pg before age 35 then your fertility window is extended... but after 35 if you have never been pg (not sure if this includes a terminated pg) then your fertility starts declining rapidly. It actually starts declining at like 30 I think but that turns pretty drastic after 35 [ Reply | More ]

i am not sure about extending your fertility window. My sister in law had her first at 37, her second at 39 and her third at 41 - all healthy perfect kids! and she didnt chart or worry, she's very laid back and grounded and i think that is what helped. I am SO watching this post! I am similar to you, friend. Have done a lot of research in the last month and am trying the following: Just started (yesterday, on day 1 of cycle) B6 & Vitex which I will take throughout the cycle, on 12dpo will rub 1/4 tsp Natural Progesterone Cream into my skin, once daily until period or conception (!). I am trying to lengthen my luteal phase (which is a bit short at 10-12 dpo.) No results yet, but I'll keep you posted. Oh, Also replaced coffee w/ green tea. Good luck to you! [ Reply | More ]

not sure if there was a typo. start taking progesterone right after ovulation, not 12dpo. if you get your period then stop and restart after you next ovulation. if you don't get your period :) continue to take the progesterone. not only will progesterone help lengthen your luteal phase, it will also thicken your lining which you need for the pregnancy and it aids in preventing miscarriages. good luck. Thanks for the clarifications. Still reading up and learning. I read about the progesterone cream on here and researched online and in books at the healthfood store. the woman who runs the store i went to is a nutritionist and shared her personal exp. with the cream, so it thought i would give it a go, since i am coming off the pill after 10 years and know there is still a lot of synthetic progestin probably in my system, i will use the natural progesterone to try to rebalance. i think the second responder answered your q's on why to take it, but wanted to let you know you can get it at any natural food/ health store. Her clarifications on taking it post o. are important. [ Reply | More ]

I took 7 months to get pg (1st one), but we didn't have it charted out right, which I realized after I got anxious and really looked at the what day what happens. A few times one of us was out of town during ov. I see some ppl say cut coffee and switch to green tea, I am skeptical about that because often green tea has even more caffeine than coffee and the caffeine in coffee can prevent pg. So switch to anything decaf. [ Reply | More ]

My weight and activity level were already good, so I started taking vitamins, DH started taking vitamins, I quit Diet Coke, he quit social smoking. I'd been charting for years so I just watched for the signs. But the most important tip is to orgasm!!! If it doesn't work out for you during the sex, do it manually or with a vibrator right afterwards. If you don't want DH's feelings hurt, just go "wash up" in the bathroom, run the water, and get off real quick. Swear to god it helps. [ Reply | More ]

np: maybe that's why the student wants to switch schools. Looks like someone whose first language is not english (especially because the mom misunderstood the "gidence" counselor's question). Unfortunately, it's really hard to get a transfer except for safety reasons or under NCLB, and even then, it's not easy. Sounds like the mom is not able to act as a good advocate. Gotta admire that kid for getting to Inside schools forum! [ Reply | More ]

ITA re: perspective! The Inside Schools staffer posted a thoughtful reply: "The appeals process has ended for this year. You can try going to an enrollment office in August to get a different placement, by telling the officials that your mother misunderstood what she was asked. They might be able to allow you to transfer. Special offices open up at the end of August for students who are new to NYC and those who need a transfer for specific reasons. However it might not be all bad for you to stay in your current school for 9th grade and then re-apply to high school for 10th. You might have a better shot at getting into the high school of your choice by filling out the application again. [ Reply | More ]
