2 y/o isn't going to understand a calendar. Have DH call once a day, every day. DC is going to be clingy, but will be OK. Don't make a big deal of the trip, esp. if DH is often gone before DC wakes up in the morning or doesn't come home until after bedtime anyway. DC will feel your stress and that will make matters worse. [ Reply | More ]

Hmm, he's actually 2.5 (I'm never sure how to list a kid's age...) and I think he would get it. NP: I did way too much research during this process, and actually looked at the breakdown of 3s and 4s at a bunch of schools, including 234. 234 is really impressive, comparable to G&Ts in terms of how well all it's students do, which says something about the quality of teaching (as well as something about the student body). I think you did the right thing, as it's probably closer to your house as well. [ Reply | More ]

big reason the scores at 234 are so high is because most parents are highly educated, have $$ and hire tutors. that does not mean it's not a great school with great peer group though. just keep that in mind -- there's a lot of compensation made for TERC. Ditto at 89. [ Reply | More ]
