What would you make of this? DH isn't very good with our 1 yo dd. She can take him for short intervals, then melts down and doesn't stop. We were at a pool complex and he had taken her off somewhere while I was with our older 2 kids. About 30 mins later I find him feeding her icecream and she had obviously been crying. We switch off, and he takes older two, I take baby. Go back in the pool for a few minutes then take her out to dress her and put her in the stroller. As I put her in the stroller she starts crying like she always does (doesn't want to go in ever but eventually calms down). As I'm doing this a woman approaches me and says "Is she OK? Can I get her a pacifier or something?" I tell her dd always cries when she goes in the stroller, that we are fine and she say "But she's been crying for an hour"....I can't stop thinking about her motive...was she annoyed by her crying (because DH is socially clueless and doesn't think one should leave a quiet area with a screaming baby)...or was she concerned about dd - I never let dh with older two much when they were young because he has never gotten the baby thing down and still don't think he has...it's just really bugging me [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]
