[ - ] If I'm not supposed to eat lunchmeat, does getting slices of a freshly-cooked turkey breast at the whole foods counter count as lunchmeat? 6 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

no. it's fine. Just don't get the loaf stuff that comes in plastic that they slice at the counter. If it's fresh roasted, it's fine. Both zabar's and fairway also do their own roast turker--much better than whole foods in imo [ Reply | More ]

you're not supposed to eat food that has gone bad, so pregnant women are warned away from foods that spoil easily, i.e. meats and fish. basically, use good judgment with your food, don't buy a sandwich from dodgy corner deli. i ate raw oysters, super stinky cheeses and sushi throughout both pregnancies, but i ate at good restaurants or bought fresh from cheesemongers, it was expensive but this stuff was fresh. 15mo is a little young, IMHO. Anyway, my db (18mos) seems a little scared of being up on the "big" toilet with the ring seat on it, so mostly I put her on the little toilet on the floor (tho so far, she's mostly interested in the toilet paper aspect of using the toilet). [ Reply | More ]

which little toilet do you use? i know 15mo is young but i was trained by then and i think she can do it. she is very regular and loves the potty when i go and hates poopy diapers. i think she can do it. and she says "oops, poopy" after she goes. [ Reply | More ]

then go for it. Not surue what one we have (db is using dc#1's toilet so it's been a while since I bought one), I think it was by Graco and cost maybe $20. Did not bother with anything too fancy, and liked that I could use the ring in the little toilet or move it onto the big one. GL! [ Reply | More ]

My dd goes to daycare on the UES. When I was looking, someone recommended Basic Trust. They had two children there. A friend used River School and liked it for a while but then didn't feel like it morphed into enough of a preschool/stimulating environment. On here I have seen a West Side Y mentioned. I called of PWMontessori, but I think you had to apply on the nursery school cycle (phone after labor day to get application) and it had more closings/holidays than a daycare -- more like a school. Definitely check up on that though, and if it is a nice preschool that will be a plus. Don't be put off by the wait lists, they move and you can always use a nanny for a few months before. In some ways, it's nice to have a sitter when they are super young anyway. [ Reply | More ]
