where exactly? Park West Montessori (CPW & 104th) is wonderful (DFs sent their DB and loved it), but there is a waiting list. [ Reply | More ]

My dd goes to daycare on the UES. When I was looking, someone recommended Basic Trust. They had two children there. A friend used River School and liked it for a while but then didn't feel like it morphed into enough of a preschool/stimulating environment. On here I have seen a West Side Y mentioned. I called of PWMontessori, but I think you had to apply on the nursery school cycle (phone after labor day to get application) and it had more closings/holidays than a daycare -- more like a school. Definitely check up on that though, and if it is a nice preschool that will be a plus. Don't be put off by the wait lists, they move and you can always use a nanny for a few months before. In some ways, it's nice to have a sitter when they are super young anyway. [ Reply | More ]

- There is also Smarter Todder. It gets negative comments on UB but you have to go see it, speak to parents, and get a feel for it yourself -- GL. [ Reply | More ]
