My mom told me that she used to put water in my night bottle to break the habit of nursing throughout the night after 6mo. Anyone else btdt? It was 30 years ago and I can't find that method in any sleep books. Makes sense, though. My 5mo is still waking every 2 hrs or so and he is def not hungry. Just needs to be soothed. I haven't heard that, but I know sleep with a bottle of milk or formula will pretty quickly ruin dc's teeth [ Reply | More ]

yes, my ped suggested this. the idea is that the baby will realize its "not worth his while" to wake up just for water. [ Reply | More ]
