Go to BizRate or shopzilla.com and look at PlanToys dollhouses and families. Also try for a set w/furniture and family at creativeplaythings.com. Plastic dollhouses and furnishings suck. Magic cabin has a beautiful treehouse dollhouse and fairy dollhouse; these will all be favorites for many years. [ Reply | More ]

I prefer to wear minimizing bras and it doesn't seem like it does that; just from the pic. Maybe go to the store and try one on and see how you like it. Can I ask you a question? How do you buy tops that fit properly. Recently my chest got larger (fertility drugs) and now my shirts don't fit. I went to the store and in order to get them to fit the chest they are too baggy elsewhere. Should I buy larger shirts and have them altered? What do you do? [ Reply | More ]

If I had the money and cared esp. I would have my clothes tailored. In order to fit my chest they are usually much too big in the shoulders which is very unflattering and difficult to adjust. [ Reply | More ]

I am going to just wear larger shirts for this time and if I get pg them I will deal with it but hopefully my chest will shrink later, when not on the drugs. [ Reply | More ]

I posted about my father and I have to be honest, my mom was much prettier, funnier, wittier than our babysitter/au pair. That said, she was younger of course. More worshipful, maybe, as she was more naive? (This is all in hindsight guessing now that I am an adult of course.) [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] My 8 wk old ds has been sleeping in a bassinet since birth. I put him in a pack-n-play the other night and he is so wiggly he wiggled all around the pack-n-play in his sleep and kept sliding up to the side. I wanted to get a sleep positioner but have heard they are a SIDS risk. Any BTDT? What did you do? I'm moving him into his crib in a week or so and am now really nervous. pack-n-play is not sids proof and baby should not be sleeping in one for long periods. As far as I've read positioners aren't actually sids proof either. Just keep him in bassinet. [ Reply | More ]

I think technically, not until after sids risk is over, age 1. They all state it very plainly on their literature. The travel cribs look like a pack and play are slightly smaller (probably other differences too), but they are sids certified. I probably wouldn't worry too much after 9 months, but there is no way I would let 8w old sleep in one. [ Reply | More ]

just the testing. They need to certify that it doesn't contribute to sids. and that it is safe when not watched. pack-n-plays always say in the disclaimer not to leave child unattended, because they don't do as much testing. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Feel so awful for the poster whose husband has been having an affair with 21-y-old. Wanted to weigh in as most people seemed to think he'd seriously want to be with the babysitter. My father had an affair with our babysitter, and it wasn't just a one-night stand. She was a live-in babysitter and it went on for 6 months at least, if not more. I was a teenager at the time and HATED him for it. Babysitter was 22 years old. My mom was ready to divorce him and he begged his way back. I refused to speak to him except when absolutely necessary for at least a year. They stayed together but I maintain that things were never the same between them since then. Their marriage is okay at best. He adores my mom but she's still, to this day, a little distant from him. (She used to be lovey-dovey; she was living afterward, but not the same. Ever.) 17 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

My family was not wealth, more middle class (or I guess upper); she was more of an au pair. I am torn: On one hand, I am proud I have parents who are still together and have worked through things ... on the other, I have to be honest, I know it devastated my mother, and me, and I know their marriage has sometimes been very strained. I think that the DH will come to his senses - the drama/danger/excitement of a young new body in a furtive and scary situation will supercharge any relationship. I hope that the wife can ride this out for a while until everyone comes back to reality. THEN she can decide if she should leave and how much he will pay for the screw up. [ Reply | More ]
