No, not that much. I checked Streeteasy and 2br apt from 1,000 to 1300 sq ft in PS199 is from $5k to $8k. I think $6700 was median price. Just covers mortgage and taxes/fees if you put 30% down. [ Reply | More ]

We've been pretty happy with West 11th St Pediatrics, although I like Zullo and Rosello better than Ferrier. Another important question to ask is about walk-in hours: they have them every morning 9-10am, no need for appt, great if DB is sick. [ Reply | More ]

Vicki Papadeus is all about marketing to get you in. but once you're in, it's all kach$ng - doesn't call you back, gives no advice over the phone. all she does is ask you to bring baby in (office visit=money.) I(first time mom) called when db was 6-7 mo, alarmed that baby was refusing food, warmish, and crying. She said bring her in....SHE was TEETHING. isn't the the most common thing for this age? Parents have a place down Collins avenue (too small for us to stay) should we get a hotel room on ocean drive so we can walk around if beach gets old or stay closer to them on Collins (either way they'll hang with us). [ - ] Nursing moms: how did you know your milk was coming in? db has been nursing vigourously for the past 2 days (we are still in the hospital, c-section), but I am pretty sure its still colostrum (breasts do not hurt and are still soft, etc). Its weird though, because she will stay latched on for like an hour and suck...is she getting that much from the colostrum? She seems so hungry....like she can't nurse enough. 7 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

she's setting up her milk supply. Babies "put their orders in" for BM several days before they need it. So, if DB is nursing long and often, this will stimulate your milk production. Most important thing to watch for is how many wet diapers/BM's DB has. [ Reply | More ]

Ask a nurse for advice about this. If your child nurses that long, she might not be getting enough. Is she making wet diapers and poops? [ Reply | More ]
General Topics 06.29.08, 02:39 PM Flag

Not true. As long as DB has enoguh wet diapers, Bm's in a 24 hr. period, and is gaining weight, DB is fine. I hate when people say DB "may not be getting enough" from BF'ing because (they nurse for long periods of time. Speak to a lactation consultant at the hospital or thru your ped's office before listeining to anyone on UB. [ Reply | More ]

You'll know when it comes it! You'll feel it. And brand-new babies don't eat that much in their first days; the colostrum she's getting is enough (as long as she's dirtying diapers). Congratulations! [ Reply | More ]
