[ - ] Pumping moms, how did you wean from the pump. I started decreasing my pumping sessions, went from 4x/day, to 3x and then I kind of skipped to 1x/day (i was barely producing and when I did the milk was so thin), today is my first day without pumping and i am SO engorged and so uncomfy. Any tips? Should I pump a little to release? 3 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I just went through this. use ice packs in your bra (baggies with frozen peas work just fine), and then pump for up to 5 minutes when you really can't take it anymore and need some relief. take lots of tylenol, too. I hear sudafed works but I didn't use it. good luck - you'll feel better in a couple of days. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Trying to buy a couch and I can't make up my mind (and DH is totally uninterested). Like a "cozy", casual look. Considering something from Mitchell Gold, but don't love any of the fabrics (although there is one that I like). Considering something from Crate and Barrel and like the fabric, but the couch shape isn't my favorite (and I'd wait for a sale in August to order). Going to PB later in the week. Any other suggestions? I love white -- but we're too messy! 5 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

That's why I really like the Mitchell Gold couch -- I hear the greatest things about the quality and it's very comfortable. Even washable, I worry about the light color, though (but there's a stripe that might work -- I'm bad at decorating which is part of the problem). [ Reply | More ]

The color isn't the issue as much as the fabric. Get denim or duck or twill - something very very durable that can be washed and stain-treated often. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] So we are selling apt and are doing an open listing where we are acting as our own listing agent but will pay a buyer's broker 3%. A broker came through previewed the apt, advertised on his company's web site and today brought over a client to see the place. Then as they are leaving they tell him "we have a broker but he is on vacation right now, but we'll have him contact you"- So now I'm thinking...how is this all going to pan out? Should their broker get a cut of the 'deal' if it happens for doing absolutely nothing if the sale goes through? 26 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

My own unique classification system...bad showing=client(s) stays less than 5 minutes or says something like "I've just started looking and am just in the research phase right now" vs good showing where client stays 25-30 minutes and asks lots of questions such as "what walls are load bearing" and "when are you looking to close?" It is, isn't it? A few asked me to sign a paper saying it was an open listing and that I'd pay the 3% if they brought a buyer and asked permission to take photos etc which I gave them-but in westchester for example, when you go to one companies web site they list all the MLS listing so if you don't look closely you may be lead to believe you have to call that agency to view the property...this is really not that different [ Reply | More ]

I don't think he personally paid for the ad though, I think his agency did. nope, I'm in dc. My best suggestion is not to stay if they are not helping you. It really is more about clicking with the therapist than anything else. If they just let you whine for months on end with no resolution, then they are not helping you. I was very firm in my mind that if I didn't get anywhere in 3 weeks, that I was going to try someone else. Granted, there wasn't a ton of movement in those 3 weeks, but there was enough to convince me she was good at her job. All in all it took about 9 months for everything. [ Reply | More ]

I basically had a job that was easy, that I disliked, for 4 years... and instead of doing something about it 2 years ago (i.e. admitting it wasn't the right thing, talking to my boss about it, possibly trying to move w/in the firm, etc.), I just waited and let my performance deteriorate to the point where now I'm for all intents and purposes going to get asked to leave.
