But the unintended consequences on this one are gonna really suck down the road. SUVs are much much more dangerous for those of us in the car they hit. So, as SUVs go from brand new to just off lease, to used car lot (cheap) -- the quality of the driver goes down precipitously. So we have ever crappier drivers driving the cars which are the most dangerous to the passengers and pedestrians. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] 35 weeks pg and I just walked out of my doctor's appointment. I'm so pissed off. My group merged with another group and the wait is much longer and to get in touch with a nurse or doctor it is impossible. I have about a month left and I don't know if I should change doctor's now. I live 40 minutes away and the only reason why I kept this doctor was bec. it was close to my office. Uggghh.. I'm so pissed. I don't know what to do. 14 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Only if you don't care who is at the birth. We ended up having what I think was an unnecessary c-section because the doctor we ended up with was a high-risk doctor. It would be a hassel, yes. You just need to decide if you'd rather be hasseled by nobody getting back to you on the phone and possibly having a strange Dr at your birth. Again, if you don't really care too much, don't bother. I wouldn't bother switching at this point since it's just a matter of the waits--you are almost done, anyway, and who knows what the waits would be like at another practice. I would consider hiring a doula though if you don't know who's going to be on call when you deliver. At least there will be someone in the room who really knows what you want. -NP [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] If I were an Anderson parent, I would post no info about the school here. There is so much envy and competition afoot among the bitter parents that people are looking for things to bring down the school. We are applying next year, but have df with kids at trinity, and they are very smart about leaking anything on these message boards. every school can be criticized, but people need to be smart about opening up the school their dcs attend for attack. I think the anderson moms in their enthusiasm for the school are doing it a disservice. They need to quiet down and just go about the business of educating their kids. even bragging to playground friends does not seem advisable these days. neve see trinity moms bragging and giving lots of details about the school. opens up a firing squad IMO. 27 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I think you are paranoid if you think it is one. I think there are people who have been doing this all year. Agree that it has heated up recently, and then dropped. Now they are bringing up stuff I have never heard of. These are likely people in the school already, and they are trying to hard to defend the school. they need to be quiet and let sleeping dogs lie. I am not surprised the Trinity moms don't post. DS applied there last year; just before his interview I had my second baby, born at 32 weeks. I called Trinity and asked if I could reschedule DS' appointment because I had a newborn in Intensive Care. Trinity said 'no.' And this is supposed to be a place that cares about children? So now it's the Anderson moms who are suddenly responsible for the idiocy that often is a hallmark of message boards like this one? That's certainly a novel approach! Maybe next week, the PS9 G&T moms will be the scapegoat. Or hey, how about all the TT moms? Or the Hunter Round 2 moms? Wait until it's your turn, OP. You'll be posting here about the endless frustration of the G&T application process. Good luck with the process next year. [ Reply | More ]

np. I sort of agree with her. OP pretty much says that people who criticize A are just bitter, jealous rejects. I don't see how that's less offensive than what the OR wrote. [ Reply | More ]

First of all you read the words "jealous and rejects" into the OPs post. Second of all you agree that people shouldn't be bitter and jealous of Anderson because it sucks they really should be bitter and jealous of private schools, which is what the OR is saying. [ Reply | More ]
General Topics 07.03.08, 09:29 AM Flag

Sorry, OP said "envy" not "jealousy." Same diff. And her "bitter parents" comment speaks clearly implies someone who wants to be at the school but isn't. I agree with OR's point that not everyone who criticizes A wishes they could be there, but I don't agree with her point that all publics are horrible and that everyone wishes they could go private. MY point was simply that the OR's post wasn't any more objectionable than the OP's. [ Reply | More ]

Trinity moms don't post here because: 1. they aren't on UB; 2. they are too snobby; 3. they are so snobby and school is so much about status and social upper class conformity, that they can't see anything wrong with the school. Therea are exceptions, of course. Also, in general, private school moms post less disparaging comments about their schools than public school moms. Maybe they are terrified of getting outed and kicked out. Or maybe spending 30K a year makes you want to think the Kool Aid is tasty. [ Reply | More ]
