[ - ] potty training advice needed. 2-1/2 yo dd has been peeing on the toilet for about 4 weeks. at the beginning of training, she also pooped on the toilet a few times. since then, she's either skipped a day, or poops in her pull-up that we put on for naps and overnight. any advice on how to get her to be comfortable pooping on the toilet is appreciated. 2 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

just keep talking about it and how it goes in the potty instead of the pull up. Mine did very much the same but started going in the potty after a month or so. Just don't make it a big deal [ Reply | More ]

My ds did the same thing- it is very normal. I would always have him help me dump the pull-up from the pull up to the toilet and explain that he needs to poop on the toilet. He is doing well now, but still has accidents from time to time. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] College sitter was sort of in an accident last night on her time off (her car). A pickup truck strayed across the road and clipped off her driver's mirror, didn't stop. I'm so grateful she wasn't hurt. But now I'm concerned about letting her drive the kids, even though it's unfair since this wasn't her fault. 5 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

during the last RE market downturn, some co-ops were generous enough to extend the rental limit up to 4 years - esp. if you had a consistent tentant. unfortunately, the premise of a co-op is to create a community of owners and not investors, so they are never going to be that flexible. ultimately, if you need to move, you will most likely need to sell within a coupld of years. they aren't going to be able to afford to be generous with this downturn (if it ever hits NYC). ITA. I'm not saying they are never the answer, but it sounds like OP may have some other options here by dealing with things in a different way. It's not like she just feels crappy for no reason. She has a lot to deal with. I just hate the idea that meds are the first answer to any problem [ Reply | More ]

I'm with you. I think people over use them and underestimate the side effects etc. There are some pretty good suggestions here. I hope you will consider some of them. And remember, none of this is permanent. You will get through it one way or another. ;-) [ Reply | More ]

one issue at a time, one day at a time. And you need help. Can a sibling take over your father's affairs? Can he pay an accountant to do it? And get your dh on board- talk to him about how stressed you are and work out a plan to take some pressure at home away from you (like having a couple of hours on Sat morn to go to a coffee shop by yourself, sth like that). gl [ Reply | More ]

that's a good suggestion. Have a fee-based Certified Financial Planner work on your dad's finances. [ Reply | More ]

Get some help, even if it means going into debt. Asks friends to help with kids, look for high school or college student or mother's helper. If your husband lost his job why can't he take a lot of responsibility for kids, household. [ Reply | More ]

Step away from google now! Even if none of us have the answers, you are going to be fine. The horrible thing about the internet is that the 1% that bad things happen to write 99% more then the 99% that turned out fine. [ Reply | More ]

I would agree, except that when you google, you see clips of the bad sites too, and it is very tempting to read them. [ Reply | More ]

true but when DB had some issues, we searched all over. I figured that if I saw the same info on 2 or 3 sites, it was probably in the ballpark of being true. I also restrained myself from reading scary looking sketchy stuff. [ Reply | More ]

Yes, if the normal creams aren't working you might need a prescribed cream. There is nothing available over the counter that is stronger. [ Reply | More ]
