i don't know if they'd qualify for any g&t program but my kids are for the most part pretty normal. one is incredibly determined and i think she'll get a lot done in her life. another one seems to be very bright but not brilliant. my third dc is just such a loveable person that she's a joy to be with. but i don't think that counts a talent [ Reply | More ]

It is slow but the range of normal is really pretty big. Is your ped. concerned? My dc was slow on the gross motor skills so our very cautious ped sent us to several specialists. I found out that most pediatricians' range of normal is smaller (sometimes a lot smaller) than the specialists' range of normal. It will give you peace of mind to know. BTW, my dc is now 8 and is just fine. It just took dc a little longer than some. [ Reply | More ]

Do you mean a duvet for a comforter or a slipcover for a couch or chair? I have a cheapo duvet from Bed,Bath & Beyond and have never had a feather poke out of it. Definitely wouldn't pay an extra $500 to prevent it as it's never been a prob. for us. Our upholstered feather pillows on our couch, on the other hand - feathers poke out of those all the time. Slightly off-topic: I went to Stuy, which included some bright kids, some gifted kids, and some profoundly gifted kids. Looking back on how people have fared, like most high schools, it's a bit of a crapshoot as to how successful people have become. Most did OK in life, a few did incredibly well, and a few really flamed out. No definite correlation as to how gifted they were in high school. [ Reply | More ]
