I thought it was fun. With #1 when I was SAHM I made a ton of new friends which I all met at venues like the Y or the playground. Maybe the neighborhood plays a role in there? I was in the East Village then (that was 5 years ago) and everybody I met was open to hang out again. Then we moved to Queens and I went to work FT. really couldn't afford it meaning that you'd need to sig alter lifestyle or meaning you'd end up hugely in debt? i don't think the latter is a good idea and if you are going to make major chnages to lifestyle, you may want to try it for a while and bank the 2nd salary and see how resentful you get.
