Not as rich and white as you may think, many still go private in Greenwich, particularly as they get older go onto boarding etc. [ Reply | More ]

Because they all have so much $ they do not know what to do with it, it is good but not as good as some of the other areas in Westchester etc. [ Reply | More ]

the quality of public edcuation is tied to the property taxes and Ct has much lower taxes than Westchester. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Thanks to UB I just found out about BOB books. I've never seen them in B&N. What isle would they be in? I am trying to assess my kid's reading skills. How do I know at what grade level she is at? Right now she is devouring those Rainbow Magic books and other girly books like Ivy and Bean and others. 9 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

If she is reading Rainbow Magic on her own BOB books are not for you. They are for very beginning readers (think lower level than hop on pop) If your DD us reading Rainbow Magic on her own that is like a 1st or 2nd grade level. [ Reply | More ]

^ Go to this site http://www.lexile.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?view=ed&tabindex=5&tabid=67&tabpageid=313 and put the book in. It gives you Lexile level and you can get grade level reading from that [ Reply | More ]

the bob books are in boxes and teach basic phonics. Your dd is beyond them. IMO, they are pretty boring for kids. "Reading Level" varies depending on the system used to classify and isn't just about the books a kid reads for pleasure. [ Reply | More ]

My mom kept making name suggestions which was driving us crazy until finally I told her that the db has a name and she'll hear what it is the min he's born (everyone else who asks we tell we're thinking of names or working on it and they accept that). So now she keeps telling me that her grandfather's middle name was Benjamin. She works this into most converstations. Lst night she told me that my aunt refers to the baby as Benjamin. I told her "Mom, the baby has a name and it's not Benjamin. It's not any name in our family." What else am I supposed to do? She's driving me nuts. 9 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

In any event, OP can gently tell him she likes being next to him and wants to relish the experience, could they cuddle afterwards, etc...or say something to make him feel sexy...there is no reason to cast this guy out yet because of his own insecurities around sex. I was more or less the same with DH because of inexperience. I am glad he kept me around and we worked it out. [ Reply | More ]
