Conveniently, I've worked in animal rescue and unwilling volunteers aren't any more welcome there than anywhere else. Someone has to supervise and train volunteers, even for "menial" labour, and dealing with people who don't really want to be there and people who are only going to be there for 20 hours is just annoying and not really worth it.
