oh you need to learn the process. need neuropsych eval. need reports, fill out application, have school interview, etc. it doesn't happen with a phone call. [ Reply | More ]

Are you looking for Fall 2008? If so, I would just call up and ask if they have any openings for the fall. If they do, they will tell you the application process. Not all of the schools on the approved list will require a neuropsych eval...there is no reason to jump thru all of the hoops at this point in the process if there are no openings ...if there are openings you can talk to them more about what type of child they are looking for [ Reply | More ]

Often it is a gross amount, structured out over X months (ie: $100,000 payable over 48 mos). The easiest thing would be to figure out a fair gross amount and assume a structured payment over 36-48 mos. [ Reply | More ]

Just a part. Also important is the wife's salary, whether the division of assets gives her a settlement she can live on, etc. Without a prenup though, it is hard to predict. A lot of wives who expect alimony are surprised to learn ungenerous most divorce laws are to non-working spouses. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Repost re. decorators : anyone on who has used one? (or who is one?):hired someone to manage some renovation work and wondered how much I actually need to spend with him at eg. the tile store? I wanted someone who'd bring stuff to me (ie. narrow down the choices) and assumed this is what would happen. What is the norm? He's asked me to meet him at a stone/tile store next week and also wants me to accompany him to lighting stores another day. Is this what happens? Tia 3 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

op:hi. I'm not sure how much time I need to spend choosing bath tiles, floor tiles, backsplash tiles etc with him. Oh and lighting too. DH and I had tried to do it on our own and it was overwhelming with the choices available. Thought hiring a decorator would mean less legwork on my part. He doesn't have an office (works out of his home) but so far has brought samples to me. Eliminated some, others were possibles. Next batch included more eliminations than I thought was right ie I thought he'd know from my choices what to come back with. Now he wants to meet at his favorite tile and lighting stores next week. How much time would your client normally need to spend shopping? Tia [ Reply | More ]

she needs to write letters immediately. I had a similar problem with my dd. In Rhode Island, no matter what kind of insurance you have or what was done to the baby...the baby is covered under the MOTHERS insurance for the first 30 days. I got bills from the doctors that did the ultrasounds, the neurologist...etc, all wanting me to pay....forget it, I wrote letters to everyone that sent me a bill and said they better bill it out again, and not to send me another bill, and I have not received one...that was a year ago! Have her check with her insurance---most of the time hospitals sign an agreement with the insurance co and aren't allowed to balance bill--meaning that they're not supposed to bill for whatever insurance doesn't cover. Not sure if that applies to specific doctors, but we had a similar situation and our insurance told us we weren't responsible (BC/BS and NYU Med NICU) [ Reply | More ]
