treat her like a baby. coddle her, and pamper her. when the baby comes, treat her just like the baby, have her wear a bib, put her down for multiple naps, she'll snap ut of it real fast. [ Reply | More ]

we are in a similar situation except dc is almost 4. He's doing some of the same things, especially the baby talking. I spoke to someone at our preschool today and was told that her dc did the same. I guess its normal. [ Reply | More ]

Apparently, if you are in NYC, your kid should just wait patiently. In the rest of the civilized world, you can ask for a turn. Even on the playground. [ Reply | More ]

if your child lacks the creativity and inititative to play with a 2nd toy at someone's house, you should leave. Two children will fight the entire playdate over just one toy. [ Reply | More ]

I thought part of the point was to teach sharing? If child #1 can't learn to share a toy, good luck in school. [ Reply | More ]

i believe this ia a giant miscommunication. at 2 years old, on a playdate, sharing is allowing a different child to come to your house and play with your toys..which is challenging enough. if that 2nd child wants to play with teh ONE toy your child is playing with, that will quickly become sticky. And please dont tell me your two year old will hand over the ONE toy they are currently playing with. Sharing means many things. [ Reply | More ]

If the other child is playing with a toy, tell your child to find a different toy to play with. my goodness, sharing is not a natural instinct and teaching your child to find a new activity is a lesson in itself. [ Reply | More ]

I didn't see the original post, but on the playground or in my house you share. You can play with a toy, but if you have had it for a while and someone else wants to play with, they should ask politely and you should let them have a turn. is this not how the world functions (at least theoretically?) I skip the Caribbean that time of year...hurricane season..easier to drive home from Jersey, if absolutely necessary. Try a condo at SeaPointe Village in Diamond Beach/Wildwood Crest NJ or a room in Cape May, NJ at Congress Hall. Both have low key kids programs, and good service as an right near the beach. DH is one. He went to the bookstore and read the acknowledgments of books he liked/similar writing style/etc. to find the names of their agents. He put together a query letter and sent it to 6 agents at a time. About half each time would ask for the manuscript. When he didn't hear from any of the first three after two months, he sent a second batch, but his first choice agent from first round ended up taking him as a client. [ Reply | More ]
