But how do you get preschooler to take a nap when you have to hold the baby? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Wear the baby in a carrier or let the baby cry for a few minutes. I have a 2.5 yo and newborn. Sometimes newborn has to cry for a few minutes. [ Reply | More ]

disagree with the premise, preschooler doesn't HAVE to nap. nor do you HAVE to hold the baby. [ Reply | More ]

Agreed, but shrieking baby doesn't help anyone nap. What do you suggest? [ Reply | More ]

Find something that the baby likes - swing, bouncy, crib with mobile on, etc... so that you can put him down for a few minutes at a time. [ Reply | More ]

i don't make a big routine of nap time. dcs can take a book into bed if they want. i don't need any time or hands free. [ Reply | More ]
