Yes. Okay not fab for my 4yo but I get the feeling it's on a par with or better than alternatives. The counselors didn't seem that experienced. There are lots of nice activity choices but not enough outdoor exercise for my sporty girl. The other thing she did that summer was Elite Gym camp 9-12pm and liked it better. [ Reply | More ]

rainy and warm the next few days, getting into the 90s this weekend. Summer is officially here. I would pack layers. jeans, shorts, t's, tanks and hoodies as it the temp can drop at night and restaurants/theaters will have the ac going. if you forget umbrellas or don't want to pack them, you can just buy them here. have fun! Some kids have a "witching hour". My dd did, probably around that age. It really only lasted a short time. I asked the dr about it at one of her well appts and she said it's common. If she's burped, dry, fed you can probably just assume she's going through this. Hang in there. [ Reply | More ]

Sounds normal. She will grow out of it, I promise! As long as she is fed, clothed properly, and has a clean (enough) diaper, all you can do is hold her, rock her, maybe take her outside for a bit. Same thing happened when my dh would get home, too. Bless him, he just took the crying baby while I sacked out in the bedroom w/door closed for a while. [ Reply | More ]

Totally normal. After a long day she's prob over stimulated. Lower lights and noise. This is a good time to put her down a bit. Try sling or carrier facingin so she can't look at exciting things. Stroller with shade and put a blanket over to cover her from seeing things helps too. [ Reply | More ]

I always come back to the Latham book "Power of Positive Parenting" when it comes to problems with kids. It's gives methods for values-based teaching to kids. She's probably getting this behavior modeled for her somewhere, no? Also, as those kids get a bit older, they are going to give it to her. Peer feedback is a great behavior modifier for kids, but it will be hard to watch from the sidelines. [ Reply | More ]

Wow, this is a tough one. Number one, it sounds like a stage -- three year olds can be very willful and not all that easy to reason with! And you need to get very firm, impersonal and humorous (non judgemental) about it. I would treat it like very bad table manners, something you won't allow but not something to wring your hands over. Don't overreact, just be totally firm, treat it like unpleasant behavior. That's my guess. [ Reply | More ]

Oh god this sounds horrible. You should start researching your options and figuring out the finances to feel more in control. Perhaps pick up some literature about protection of wives and children in divorces in your state. try to learn as much as you can about what laws and protection you have (covertly of course -- until you decide what to do). It will help you feel less helpless. Also a counselor could help you navigate your options while you figure out a solution. Knowledge is power. gl. [ Reply | More ]

I'd say counseling so that you can learn to talk productively to each other and to give some structure to a conversation where you can tell him how his siding with his mom against you really feels. I don't disagree with the poster who suggested you put your ducks in order to in anticipation of a possible divorce. Better to be prepared. [ Reply | More ]
