[ - ] anyone out there? 6wks pregnant and have had bleeding and cramps for almost 2 days (period like). Doctor did assessment and HCG levels are only 780 but cervix is closed. Said it was grey area, that I am likely to miscarry and come back on monday again for HCG testing again. Anyone BTDT? Just feels like a period, will I feel it if I actually miscarry? Has anyone had HCG levels this low at 6 wks and been ok? Not knowing for sure is such torture. 5 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I went through a similar experience, and I'm sorry to say it, but it's likely you're miscarrying. There's nothing to really "feel" at this point except a really heavy period. Go to your doctor on Monday and best of luck. [ Reply | More ]

I can't for some reason reply to an OR. Anyway, it doesn't hurt to try herbs/acu anyway if you're indeed miscarrying but I have heard of women who were bleeding and were able to stop miscarriage with TCM. [ Reply | More ]

btdt 4 times. Two of the four times I miscarried and the other two times I carried to term and had healthy babies. If it stops there is a good chance everything will be OK. If it gets heavier, you start passing small clots then you are likely miscarrying. It's so hard just waiting it out - for me I just would have rather known the outcome right away.....anyway, good luck to you. (I never had my HCG levels checked when I was bleeding. Just called OB every time and just came in about a week later each time to see if everything had passed (the times it got heavy) - and to check for heartbeat the times the bleeding stopped. There isn't much you can do when this happens (although they will tell you to take it easy). Luckily with my mc's I didn't need a d&C- they were just like heavy periods [ Reply | More ]

I don't know. He is extremely smart, but hyper sensitive, difficult to re direct and occasionally explosive. I am not handling him well, and although he is not easy, I am probably making the situation worse. DH and I don't get a long very well which may be contributing. I really want someone to help him, but to also help us do better. [ Reply | More ]

I am the mom who told you about dreikurs. what i did was highlight the most important parts of the book and asked dh to read just that. which he did. he still does not follow all of the suggestions but what dreikurs says is that it does not really matter. your son will know what to expect from you. there is not much you can do about your dh. he explains it very well. i have a hard time keeping my mouth shut with dh but if i did, things would be fine anyway, maybe better. dreikurs is the best. you will really like it. it takes time to practice it. i even had notes up on the wall to remember what to say and do. that you are concerned means that you will make things better. good luck! thanks again. part of the problem is that dh blames me for the behavior as it is happening, often yelling at me that I am handling dc wrong, and saaying I am not punishing adequately. I feel I cannot even think while its going on. we have discussed it outside of the difficult moments, dh agrees to step back, and then the moment something happens, it recurs all over again. it is having a terrible effect, and I am at the end of my rope. You'll find that dreikurs does not suggest punishment at all. you will just get retaliation fromyour child, or revenge, or retreat. you can find the book on ABE books for about a dollar. it is very, very respectful to children and explains why children are different from how they were years ago (ie well-behaved). it will really help you, i am sure. any by the way, if you follow dreikurs' suggestions, things will first get worse before they get better. your son will feel like a fish out of water with the change and will test you. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] How did you know your dc was ready to potty-train? 2.4yo dd talks about pee and poop constantly, likes to sit on the potty for 1 minute, but no interest in actually doing it. I've switched her to cloth diapers at home so she could feel the wetness . . . she'll take off the wet cloth diaper, but that's it. Anyway, what are the readiness signs? 12 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

itda - this, in my opinion, is pre-readiness behavior. dc should have had the experience of having gone in the potty and also be able to signal or say when she/he has to go. [ Reply | More ]

pre-readiness? Do you know that the typical time for potty training occurs about 1 1/2? There is NO pre-readiness. If there is an interest, foster it imo [ Reply | More ]

All three of mine did this for many months before they were actually trained. Just leave the potty out, talk about it, ask her once in a while (once or twice a day) if she wants to go pee pee on the potty. Eventually it will happen. [ Reply | More ]

If she is not ready, you will be the one who is trained i.e. setting a timer to remember to make her sit on the potty every 30 minutes, etc. Try for a morning or afternoon. If she wets her diaper/pants, wait a few weeks and try again [ Reply | More ]

np: I was so concerned about potty training and then my daughter did it literally in one day (she NEVER went on the potty or the toilet before) when she was 2.9. She had two accidents the first day, one the second day and that was it. She completely led the whole thing. I really stressed about it so much for no reason. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. Same chance as every other 99 that listed A first. Probably about 1 in 4. You would go spotless if that was all you listed and dc was not chosen. [ Reply | More ]
