[ - ] My friends father died. They had a wake one day on a Thursday and Friday was the burial followed by a party. She gave the info for the wake with instructions to come on the party which she never sent out. I didn't want to call her on the day of the funeral to ask "where's the party?" so I didn't go. My other friend who also did not go, because she used to be engaged to her brother and both are now with other people, gave me shit for not trying harder. PLUS I work full time, have two kids, and 15 weeks pregnant, and have been on bad terms with this friend for a while now. How badly did I mess up here? 5 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

We did ours in Oct so it was that weekend that some people get and others dont. The wedding was in St. Thomas so it was a destination wedding and we thought some might want to spend the extra time there. We also worked very very closely with an airline and got real discounts for people. But we have a wedding to go to in Canada during their high season and we are flying into Buffalo and driving and extra two hours to save money. [ Reply | More ]

I just went to one last Thanksgiving. The bride and groom thought, "Well, everyone will have it off." Exactly, the ENTIRE COUNTRY will have it off as it is the busiest travel holiday of the year. Tickets which would have normally cost $250 each were close to $500 each. It was ridiculous as both the bride and grooms families had to fly in for this, many from across the country, and the entire weekend was planned, Thanksgiving dinner, city tour, rehearsal dinner, wedding, reception, after-reception reception, and breakfast. The bride's sister had just had a baby, so she had to tote around a one month old the entire time. It was completely obnoxious. Everyone says that it was just one day, well it was more like five days. [ Reply | More ]
