[ - ] Lately I have been feeling at times angry and resentful of dcs (5 and 3). Just worn out and annoyed that no matter how many times I tell them things (i.e. in the morning we brush our teeth and get dressed for school so we are not late, food is eaten at the table with a plate not on the livingroom couch) they do not respect me or the rules. I know it is all about repetition, but I can't help feeling like they take advantage of me and dh and do exactly what they want to do regardless of how many thousands of times they have been told the rules. 8 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Huh? The rules are the rules. Take them physically by the hand and walk them through these steps. No meals are eaten on the couch. Everyone gets dressed and washed and brushed for school. Etc. Be a total hard ass [ Reply | More ]

but that's the point. we have gone over it a million times. There is not much more I can do but become a total dictator and punish them every day all day. And to make matters worse, dh just thinks my expectations are out of line and that they are 3 and 5 and "that's what 3 and 5 yos do". [ Reply | More ]

op:actually, my 5 yo alone is an angel. The 3 yo is the pia and the two of them together push me over the edge. This anger I feel towards them lately is what is really bumming me out. I obviously adore them, but have felt v. frustrated lately. [ Reply | More ]

I'm sorry. DH was fired two weeks after we bought a second home....million dollar mortgage (not a new baby, but certainly a new addition to our lives). We were both stressed, and i had seen it comin gmonths before (he and his bos were in denial). Just try and hold it together for him until he knows exactly what is going on. [ Reply | More ]

Meanwhile on my end, I'm trying to figure out how to put three kids to sleep and doing a not so great job at it. I just feel really bad for him. [ Reply | More ]

I was planning on taking my 6 yo ds to see Indiana Jones today but it was all sold out - so we saw The Hulk instead. I thought it was going to be over-the-top violent and stuff but it wasn't really that bad ... I actually enjoyed the movie and ds loved it. A lot of guns though. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Anyone have trouble getting pg with #2 and just stop and stick with having only one dc? If so, do you feel you made the right choice? I am definitley not considering any fertility treatments and unsure when it's time to just call it quits and be happy with having one fabulous dd. 3 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I thought I would be like you. Was just going to see if I'd get pg without trying too hard or not do it at all. But then I kept getting pregnant but having early m/c, it was torture. So there I was back at Cornell. Not saying my way is the right way, your post only reminded me of myself 3 years ago. [ Reply | More ]

I had one mc earlier this year and nothing since. I think I would at least see if there were problems before completely giving up but definitely not up for much more than that. To be honest - I am head over heals in love with my dd and not 100% I want another. I feel like at this point I do want one but unsure if that is my just trying to get something accomplished side talking. dh definitely wants 2 but agrees that we don't want to do infertility treatments. Good luck with whatever you decide. After having #2, I realized life would have been complete with just #1 - your perfect family is whatever it happens to be. Couldn't see that in the thick of all the emotions (and desperately love #2 too, just to be clear). [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] So annoyed - I have been ttc for a long time now and just got a letter from my gyn's office saying that no one in the practice will be doing OB anymore. I hate that I have been having issues and now I have to start over with a new OB. Unsure why my doc would not have mentioned this. 6 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Sorry you're having issues, but a new doctor isn't going to make much of a difference. You just have a new doctor. On the plus side, it could work in your favor if the new doc is more experienced with your issue [ Reply | More ]

that kind of decisions is almost always because of malpractice insurance premiums. it's easier to ensure that all patients are aware of the change by doing a mass-mailing, rather than discussing it with each individual patient (and it avoids the potentially difficult questions about the practice's finances). How's this for DOE wasting money: We just got a note with a BMI score (weight for height) for my K dd, and the "measurements" were taken by the gym teacher IN SEPTEMBER!! 9 months later they expect us to react to a child's height/weight that has obviously changed dramatically. What is the point of sending out these letters 9 MONTHS LATER? Oh, and the best part, is that my daughter apparently SHRUNK 4 inches from her ped's measurements... so she was extra short for her weight, making her OBESE on the score. She's actually very average. Such nonsense! [ Reply | More ]
