[ - ] i'm 36 wks pg, i've gained 26 lbs and my baby only weighs an estimated 5.5 lbs. Since my weight gain has been average, does the baby's small size mean I wasn't eating nutritious enough food? 1 Reply [ Reply | Watch | More ]

No, some babies don't gain as much for a variety of reasons, it can even has something to do with the baby's position within the placenta. My baby was born at 36 weeks at 4.15 lbs - he was just fine. He's still on the small side but fine. [ Reply | More ]

My 24 yr old nephew was recently diagnosed and we have a complex family history. Chemo is hard and helpful but spirit and diet are equal. Visit garynull.com for info. Colon cancer is classified as an untreatable cancer in the progressed stages but her youth is a huge plus. I have a niece(detected in her 20's during c-section!)whose 1st chemo didn't stop the rapacious spread and it escalated tremendously. After MAJOR surgery, more chemo and RADICAL dietary and lifestyle change -she's over 8 years in remission and is the happy young mother of 2 amazing boys! NoONE can tell you if you can or can't beat cancer-no matter how bad it is...Best of Luck to your friend and all whom love her. Be positive and strong! [ Reply | More ]

When my father's first detection occurred, he was 43; that was considered young, 35 yrs ago. This unfortunate legacy has so far, skipped our generation and attacked our children-decades younger. Awareness of colon cancer, screening and prevention are the best weapons- even when no family history exists. [ Reply | More ]

Drive past Jones Beach on the Robert Moses causeway through Captree State Park(it's all on the same long road). Pass Jones and Gilgo beaches until a small sign on your right for Cedar Beach. Make that right. It's a Babylon town beach and parking w/out a town permit is $10- well worth it for the gorgeous ocean , piping plover sanctuary, playground, shower and shelter for breaks and picnic if you like. 80 minutes from UWS. nonresponsive answer but did you talk to a lactation consultant - they can give some really practical and helpful advice (and to answer your question, I'm still nursing my 2 1/2 you but that's only because he really loves it and it was really easy for me -easier to nurse than not to). I was completely ready to give up the first month or 2. Seeing an LC helped tremendously as did just sticking with it a bit longer. By about 2-2 1/2 mos everything started falling into place, it became easy and i was able to just enjoy the bonding with my baby. Now at 7mos couldn't imagine not. Plan to wean at 1yr. I'd see a LC and give it at least another month. GL! [ Reply | More ]

We started planning for a September wedding in late January. Got the synagogue, reception location, rabbi, band and photographer first so sounds like you are on track. I went dress shopping in Jan/Feb and decided at the end of Feb. and had PLENTY of time. The dress came in a full 5 weeks before I needed to go in for my first fitting. I think the next things we did were invitations and the florist and then everything else was done afterwards. [ Reply | More ]
