[ - ] My soon to be 40 dh wants to quit his job before finding another. He is committed to finding another but doesn't have time to look while he's working current job - too many hours, too stressful. I'm not working right now but we have savings. He promises he needs a month or two. WWYD? 5 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

You are not going to like this. Enjoy this time. Seriously. For the next few years showering will become optional (some days teeth brushing will be an achievement) and waking in the am (as opposed to 3x during the pm) will be a delight. [ Reply | More ]

don't let her scare you - I got MUCH more sleep when the baby came than before. Trust your natural parenting instincts will kick in, read What to Expect, take a Prep for Childbirth class (the one that tells you about all the options, not just natural), and talk to other moms - you will be fine! ITTA. I remember feeling like this and wish someone had given me this advice. I have 3 kids and wouldn't mind at all 'trading places' for a day to be 39 weeks pregnant with #1. I had the same problems last year. just get through it any way you can. I wore pretty much the same thing every day: tank top, skirt, cardigan and flip flops (in a conservative office). watch a good birthing dvd (we got one from amazon that was not scary: maybe the "live love laugh" series?). pregnancy was hard for me, but motherhood is very, very different (also hard, but awesome). you'll get through it fine. I'm starting to think this is a yuppie cultural thing... upper-middle-class parents today value intelligence/achievement over respecting elders and other people, and even see backtalk/disrespect as "funny" or a sign of independent thinking. 8 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

nope, she is perfect overall, teachers love her, great friends, etc, but she is really hard to negotiate with. she knows what she wants, how she wants it and when. she was like that since 1mo, when she refused the formula and preferred the milk. she would starve but not eat what she does not like, and she likes very few types of food. It's a good personality to have as an adult I guess (nonconforming) but tough on parents [ Reply | More ]
