pine hill on rt.28 has a small lake w/ a swimming area (can also rent boats and kayaks) plus a playground. bellayre mtn. is nearby for winter skiing, and they have summer music festivals. [ Reply | More

the best kids' playground I know in that area is at the mini golf place on 28A between Hunter and Tannersville. They moved a HUGE playground from the Hunter elementary school to the mini golf complex and it's really a lot of fun for kids. you can let the kids run around and have a drink from the bar. It's a bit of a hike from Margaretville though - but if you're in the Catskills you just have to get used to driving a fair distance to go out for dinner, entertainment, etc... [ Reply | More
