heat the over to 375 and put a colling rack (like you use to cool cookies after baking) on top of a rimmed baking rack. Put the bacon on the cooling rack and the fat will drip off into the baking rack underneath. Be forewarned, you may want to clean the oven after as a lot of the fat splatters... [ Reply | More ]

I am not familiar at all with tt elementary in Manhattan, but I went for orientation at South Mountain this year (starting K next year) and the school was so cute and welcoming and there seemed to be surprisingly little pressure on K students to read and perform other academic tasks (as compared with my "tt" NYC local public school that asigns homework every night in K and pushes reading, etc.) [ Reply | More ]

I liked the feel for K. Maybe it's because my ds is shead of the curve and I'm not looking at K to teach him the traditional K skills. With that said, all the people who move to Millburn do so because of the school system (since you can buy the exact house a couple of towns over for 1/2 the price it is in Millburn). There's a real push towards academic excellence by both the parents and the schools (and sports is really big as well). With all that said, the K was adorable and nurturing and I loved it. Am pg now after a mc at 9 weeks last time, I am not relaxed yet and was unbearable to be around at 9 weeks, but I'm starting to relax and enjoy, had the nuchal scan so I could see the heartbeat and face and legs, and that really gave me a boost. I think I will be fine once I reach 12-13 weeks. GL! [ Reply | More ]

GL to you too. I had my mc VERY early and am at about the same day now. So, I think once I get past the next week or so I will feel better. I guess then it's a whole new bunch of things to think about - nuchal, amnio (have it or not) - but at least those are the same things I had going on when pg with #1 who was perfect! GL again - feel good! [ Reply | More ]

I'm confused, if you're so thrilled and excited to be pregnant, why did you take the morning after pill in the first place ? [ Reply | More ]

Because DH wasn't ready yet. I went off the pill 6 months ago, we've been using withdrawal and having conversations about kids...then he decided he wasn't ready quite yet and I was literally about to refill my birth control scrip THIS weekend. This is SO crazy.... [ Reply | More ]

that just sounds really weird. withdrawl ?! If he's not ready than hand the man a condom. And why go off the pill unless you're ready ? The whole thing - I'm sorry to say - sounds a bit H.S. [ Reply | More ]

np: I can relate to this. I went off the pill about a year before we started trying. we used condoms in the meantime as we waffled back & forth about jumping off the cliff, and if I had accidentally gotten pg during that time I would have been thrilled. good luck OP! [ Reply | More ]
