with #1, about 6-7 weeks to confirm pregnancy I saw my GYN. Then I had to find an OB, so that was maybe around 9 weeks? With #2, I didn't know until 7 weeks, so I was closer to 9 weeks. Make the appointment NOW, if you wait, you might not be able to get in. [ Reply | More ]

you never will. this whole concept that a "cold" is related to the "cold" is so ingrained in older people that it's not worth the battle. I've explaine countless times that the common cold is caused by a virus that you get in the air or through touch contact and still my parents insist that you can get it from the cold air too. my wonderful internist told me that recent studies have shown that there is a connection betw catching a cold and being cold. You don't necessarily catch the cold from the cold itself, but the cold weather/air may weaken your immune system or otherwise make it more likely for the cold virus to take over. [ Reply | More ]

cherrios, spiral pasta, toast, soft cooked carrots, small cubes of cheese, quartered grapes, cubed avocado. As long as it is soft and small it should be fine. It might take a few day for your dc to get the hang of self feeding. My just turned 9mo and eats fairly much what we do. [ Reply | More ]

I was scared with dc #1 but with dc #2 it's been much easier. You can give pasturised cheeses. Just try something like cherrios to start with and see how your dc gets on with it. I save whatever veg, pasta, rice we had the night before to feed to dc as I hate cooking seperate meals for everyone. [ Reply | More ]

I don't remember Sesame Street have that many water rides. There's one wading pool for the little kids but most of the rides are "dry" rides. I think we took one bathing suit/towel and change of clothes. You can buy stuff there if you're desparate too. I'd think about bringing your own sandwiches for lunch too, or going outside the park for lunch. The park food is pretty gross and expensive. [ Reply | More ]

There are TONS of waterrides. We put the valuables in the locker and then kept the stuff with the stroller and took the chance leaving it in the stroller parking. For the most part, it was towels, sippy cups, snacks, etc. The water rides that are appealing to adults had the longest lines so we only did a couple of them, so for the most part, the adults could carry wallet and camera without fear of the water. Thanks. So the ones that you did go on--what did you do--take turns? Sorry, but the wallet and camera ARE my valuables--you mean you put those in the locker went on all the water rides and then took them out for the rest? [ Reply | More ]

We went for 2 days. The only rides we both did were Big Bird's Lazy River (which we did as the LAST ride each day) and then the one where you all sit on the raft which we did as the 2nd to last ride one day. Everything else was DS only or a dry ride and I think 1 or 2 things DH did with him. The lines are really discouraging and DS was so happy to do the little kid stuff like play int he sprinklers and the little kids inner tube thing plus the dry rides. And we went to the shows, got photos taken with characters, watched the parade, etc. I think DH has a nylon wallet that he put a little cash and a CC in and it didn't matter if those got wet. The 1 time I left my bag in the stroller, I locked it closed and onto the stroller with a gym locker type lock. My feeling was that I was really jsut trying to prevent rummaging or someone walking off with it. I don't think anyone really wants to try to make it out of that place with stolen stroller piled with stuff - too risky. [ Reply | More ]

We have been to SP a few times. You take out a locker for your valuables. Then there are stroller parking areas outside the theater areas and rides. You leave a few dollars in the stroller(like in your diaper bag) for ice cream or drinks. You don't bring your fanciest stroller or diaper bag and keep only the minimal stuff you need in it, like a towel and diapers. [ Reply | More ]

One more thing: If your only stroller is a bug or stokke you can leave it at home and rent a stroller at SP for the day. [ Reply | More ]
