volo is perfect for getting on and off the bus because of the carrying strap. Not sure how much lighter it is. Another downside of the volo is it doesn't recline. But that strap is great! [ Reply | More ]

volo is 9 lbs (wo extras) - it's nearly as light as cheapie umbrella strollers AND it comes w carry strap and it folds easily and "snaps shut" (like other maclarens). i didn't get it until ds was 2.5, but i would probably use it as primary stroller over 18-24 months when db no longer need to recline to nap in stroller. it's the lightest out there - mine is kind of hard to snap shut which is an issue when you want to get on/off bus quicly...but it could be because it is old. i really found it hard to lug stroller on bus - not sure how old dc is, but can you do a sling? [ Reply | More ]

There is no room in the NEST program in Region 9 or 10. The CTT class at the local district school has a wait list. There are many CTT classes, you should look into that option. Also what about Parkside - any chance space there. So glad you have a lawyer. You may want to discuss pendency. It means "stay put". You use it for K when essentially while DOE find placement, but you are limited to only current services, so it sounds like you would just get OT and Speech. Call these schools and see if there are any spots - Aaron school, Parkside, Gateway, Herbert G Birch, Gillen Brewer, West End Day. Also, has your child been evaluated by a a neuropsych - you will need this to apply to any of these schools. Which lawyer are you using? [ Reply | More ]

ok, I'll be the naysayer here -- we currently commute for K and my dd hates it. Next year, after we see if younger child gets into the same school, we will probably move closer to school. She hates having to get up early, she hates the travel home in the afternoon, she hates that friends live far away. We love the school and she loves the school, but she hates the commuting factor. Op: yeah, and my ds is not a morning person, so it will be tough enough getting him up for school, not to mention allowing enough time for the commute. Maybe we'll apply and consider moving if we get in. We'll only renting now, so it would be relatively to move. [ Reply | More ]

How long is her bus commute? We're looking at a long bus commute in Sept for K, and wondering how dd will handle it. [ Reply | More ]

Is this another difference between private and public school parents? If you ask UB if you would commute across town to bring your kid to public K you will get flamed left and right. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] I am 39 yo and 18 wks pg with #3. I got my amnio results back and every things looks better than good. So why can't I shake this feeling that some thing isn't quite right with #3. Am I just being crazy? Anyone BTDT only to find out is anxiety. My therapist says "I am not allowing myself to have this baby" because I really really wanted three. 2 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

With my dc #2 I felt I couldn't be lucky enough to have another healthy pg and baby and I was anxious. Everything turned out fine. I think it is totally normal to worry. [ Reply | More ]

The general area itself isn't that fun, aside from Saratoga itself, Lake George, and the Adirondacks more generally. Where is the house? If would go further north, around Lake George. [ Reply | More ]
