[ - ] How to deal w/sibling jealousy? 3 y/o has started kicking and hitting 1 y/o. I know it's for attention and we try to lavish him w/ ind. attention but hitting has to stop. He doesn't understand though and thinks it is a joke. Yesterday he hit the baby on the head and got time out. While I was explaining no hitting, he reached over my shoulder and bit baby's hand. Exact same problem here. If my toddler hits his baby brother with an object (yes it is that bad in our home!) that object is confiscated. If it is general hitting/pushing etc I confiscate his favorite toy. A warning that he is about to lose his favorite toy is enough to stop him hitting for a while anyway. GL [ Reply | More

[ - ] Anyone remember my post from the other day about my suspicion that neighbors' children had stolen Ipod from my house? An update: I put a sign in my lobby saying "Lost: Ipod (etc.) Turn into the office. No questions asked." My neighbors clearly all read it. My babysitter is friends with one of the suspects' older sister. The sister said she noticed the little girl had a new Ipod but that she'd said ANOTHER suspect's father (who drives a taxi) had found it in his cab. I'm speaking with the parents tonight. Just pretend that you don't care who took and and that you believe it could have somehow ended up in the cab. Ask to see the songs saved on the IPOD, just to be sure. Tell the (suspect's) mom in advance what some of your songs are and if they're on there that you want the Ipod back. I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. It was a brand new Ipod (just taken out of the box and still charging) and had been filled with tons of music a child would never listen to (operas, including several I myself sing on). I will be deeply, deeply disappointed if the children's parents try to give me the runaround. It was quite obviously taken from inside my apartment. No, in fact the discharge can actually increase when you have conceived (although not right away). There aren't really any good telltale pg signs before a missed period and even that can be late . If you have been checking your basal body temp and saw it go up for ovulation, you can keep checking it to see whether it stays up or is starting to go back down. I think you are talking about cm. And no, it does not stop if you conceive and continue if you don't. It always go thru the same pattern of not being clear and stretchy and then getting clearer and stretchier toward ovulation and after ovulation, going back to not clear and stretchy again. You can sometimes see conception based on your temp if you are charting. You should read the book How to choose the sex of your baby (even if you don't want to). GREAT chapters on cm and ovulation. That book is good and so is taking charge of your fertility. You can probably get both from library - and don't waste time. Stay on top of it. You are getting older and have little time to lose. If nothing happens in six months go to an RE. [ Reply | More

Well, if she didn't like your opinion, she did ask for it. However, it might hedge your bets to type her an e-mail and say "I hope you didn't think the way I phrased my opinion was offputting or insulting. I did not intend for it to be so, and I apologize if my words hurt you in any way." That gives her the opportunity to feel like the bigger person and say "Oh, goodness no. this entire thing is silly..because only you can tell YOU if you are fat (which you aren't). Also height and weight aren't the only thing involved in determining if someones dimensions are ok. yea, 115 happens once in a while when i haven't eaten much for a day or two, but then i settle back to 117. I am mostly raw, like 90%, and that has helped stabilize my weight. [ Reply | More
