i don't think you can say anything unfortunately. It's just how some moms are. They are more hands off. i'm currently frustrated with my good friend who doesn't intervene AT ALL with her sons, who are very aggressive. She thinks they should work it out. Drives me crazy, but there is no telling her, she thinks her ways is right and that I'm too hands on. I want to ask her how it's working for her, since her kids are always aggressive, but I bite my tongue. Instead I just don't get together with her as often. I think you just really need to watch your kid around this other child, intervene if anything is about to happen in the future. If you go back now and make an issue of her dc scratching your ds, you are doing it for other reasons. You are trying to teach her a lesson, make an example of her kid because you don't like how she is handling (or not handling) her child's SN. [ Reply | More

np: you sound like you are scorning him in front of the others by saying he is not a good playmate. Instead you should try to help the kids find ways to play nicely together. This should happen regardless of how the mom is. Your child is going to run into tough situations, help him to dissolve the situation and not make the other kid feel bad for his challenges. No, I told this to my child not to the other little boy. I have to say that I, as the mom of a sn child who gets full intervention, am actually apauled that this mom does not "get it". She doesn't get this child the intervention he needs and assumes he's okay in a group. Then expects the other moms to intervene. Sorry, but i don't have that kind of patience and it is not up to me to raise her child. I've done what I could to point out resources to her and she is not getting it. i was nervous about induction but it went really well. i got epi & it made for a painless & quick process. i dilated 4 cm in 1 hr, didn't feel a thing & pushed db out in 3 pushes. it was a surprisingly great experience. highly recommend epi when you start feeling pain. gl! [ Reply | More

i walked around for the last few wks 3 cm dilated & 20% effaced. a couple days before my scheduled induction, my water broke. when i got to hospital, i was still 3 cm dilated but started light contractions on my own before they started pitocin. after starting pitocin, i delivered about 4 hrs later. please please don't take this the wrong way, but m/cs are very common, and even more common w/ higher maternal age - so don't assume the worst or assume there's a major problem. I just had #2 at 44 (had 2 m/c between the ages of 39 and 43) and have 2 dds. NO high risk whatsoever. GL to you - talk to your ob more in-depth about it if it makes you feel better. [ Reply | More

OP: The miscarriages were at 9 weeks and 12 weeks. There was just no heartbeat when they did the sonogram. Heartbreaking. As I understand it, high risk is only if your miscarriages were NOT chromosomal. Yours sound like classic chromosomal - what they call a "blighted ovum." It's a gross and outdated term that means that the zygote wasn't going to turn into a fetus because there was something chromosomally wrong. It sounds like you had crappy luck. I was in similar situation...2 dcs, then 2 mcs at 37 and 38 then pg at 39 and I wasn't considered high risk. My mcs were early (around 8 wks). OB just said it was just 'bad luck' that I had 2 in a row, since I had had healthy term babies before [ Reply | More
