Middle schooler dd has been complaining for weeks of stomach pain (mainly in middle of stomach, around the belly button), and nausea. She had a little fever for a few days, but mainly no fever. Does that sound like anything specific or just a virus? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

If it's been weeks you should really take her to a doctor. Could be something other than a virus but should be looked at. [ Reply | More ]

such as? She had a bit of fever for a day or so 2 weeks ago. Then she was fine for about a week and a half, and then felt yucky again this past Tuesday. [ Reply | More ]

I would think an infection, and maybe have her appendix checked too. [ Reply | More ]

It's not a virus. Could be appendix. Could be inflammatory bowel disease. Needs to be looked into if it's been weeks. GL. [ Reply | More ]

Could be generalized abdominal pain as well. And can come and go and be accompanied by low grade fever and nausea. [ Reply | More ]

Take her to the doctor. I had similar symptoms in middle school and ended up with a chronic disease. Could be serious. Also is probably worse than she is letting on to you. [ Reply | More ]

Could you say what the chronic disease was? I don't think it's any worse than I'm seeing (she's not vomiting and she is in a good mood). [ Reply | More ]

I think above responders may be correct with appendix. Could also be gall stones. If no diarrhea it probably is not ulcerative colitis or crohn's disease. [ Reply | More ]

it's probably nothing, good that you're getting it checked, just to rule out anything serious. but they may not find a cause either [ Reply | More ]
