I have 15 lb to lose and "look" good so bought some inbtwn clothes as my maternity is falling off too. Unfortunately when i buy new pants to wear that are comfortable/fit my tummy they seem to slide down while wearing and my hips are too small to keep them up. Honestly i don't look that bad physically as it sounds since i'm tall but i've had to belt in the pants and it looks WIERD> but smaller sizes seemed to tight. 6 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I let DS do if it is obvious that the choice is accident or pee on a tree. Pee is getting on the ground either way. Best tip for a boy, though, is to carry a "pee bottle"-some sort of empty bottle just for that purpose. [ Reply | More ]

The portable potty is a compromise--you aren't teaching to pee on trees and you aren't crazily searching for a filthy public restroom. Find a discreet place and use the potty. There are even completely bio-safe options if you search the internet. [ Reply | More ]

Kids are going to HAVE to use "filthy public restrooms" quite often. Carry an antibacterial wipe if you must, but take them to the restroom rather than haul a potty around. [ Reply | More ]

yes. you can (really, you can) teach dc to wait till they reach a restroom. Alternatively, take them to a playground that has a restroom until potty training is over. Have you seen how many kids end up playing around the trees? Would you like your ds (and your other dc) to play anywhere near where another child has peed? I know it's difficult during potty training but you're not doing the right thing here. Alternatively (apart from going to playground with restroom), you could take a bottle for ds to pee in or get a portable potty - lots of things to do aside from peeing on a tree in a playground! There's a difference between peeing on a tree in the middle of a park (which I think is sometimes a necessity) versus peeing on a tree in a playground (which is never ok). [ Reply | More ]

or: both are bad, imo. Really, it is definitely possible to teach kids that peeing in public places is not okay. Having said that, sometimes there are exceptions and you have to do the best you can. From OP's post it seems that she lets him do this (pee on a tree) often - it's not okay and ita with other posters that she already knows this. Plus, if you've taken your kids to parks you know that they get everywhere, even that far tree! I know there are other things there (bird feces etc) but it boils down to what we teach our kids and what is acceptable and what isn't. [ Reply | More ]
