mine did that for a while. I finally had to tough it out with not bringing her into bed - a couple of nights I stayed with her in her room, finally told her she couldn't come into our bed (when i thought she was old enough to sort of "get it"). i did so much research, believe me. i toured all local public schools in our district, asked friends for recommendations for progressive public and private schools and toured + applied widely. met w/ PSD on various occasions, and she never talked about public school options at all. we didn't know G&T programs existed or that there were tests we could have had dd take until it was too late. it's not like you automatically know everything about NYC schools as soon as you become a parent. i don't know anyone personally who had their kids take these tests. most of our friends are still childless or have new babies. Yes ERb is a requirement for 1st in private and you cannot use old ERB. I'd take it over the summer becuase starting K is rough for some kids and you may have emotional issue to deal with. [ Reply | More ]
