so you are paying about $700/wk. That's totally within the going rate range. What I have found is that the more hours the job is, the less per hour you need to pay. I have found that nannies tend to look at how much they need to make per week, they look at the take-home, much more than the hourly wage. Most nyc area nannies make $550-$750 week. [ Reply | More

[ - ] Question on behalf of my babysitter. She lives in Brownsville with bad district public schools. She has been sending her dc's to a private christian school(not Catholic, Pentacostal I think) but doesnt particularly like the new principal and its always a struggle to pay the tuition. A friend of hers recently got her kids into a nearby charter school that sounds really great to her. How does she go about getting in? is it too late for September? Any advice?
