[ - ] We're making an unexpected visit to friends with a totally unchildproofed house. Friend has told us to bring whatever gates, etc. we think we need. I'm pretty mellow about these things, but I would like to get a door gate for DS's temporary room (which will be upstairs--and he's not used to stairs). Any recommendations about what to get and where to get it? Which NYC-stores carry baby gates? 6 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

If it's just for a quick visit, get one of those pressure gates. toys or babies r us. How old is db? Can't you just leave the door closed. If dc is 2 or over, can likely climb over a gate anyway. [ Reply | More ]

DS is 2, and I think he can climb over the gate, but at least it would slow him down...especially at night. He's used to opening his door and walking out at home, but he doesn't have a gate like this at home. [ Reply | More ]

kmart, TRU, BRU will all have gates. Or you could go to any store near her house and buy them there. I have the Safety First step through gate that is pressure mounted so you don't have to drill into the wall, but has a gate you can open so you don't have to step over it. [ Reply | More ]

I'd throw away all chances for the schools I've wanted for so long to hear "negative." 13 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

[ - ] Please help. I have a 10 month old and I've been in my position a year. Finally a 4-day workweek option is opening up. In the past, people would work from home one day a week so they didn't need to work extra hrs per day. I fall short 22 minutes with a proposed schedule of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. DD's daycare is a little over 10 minutes away from work and normally I stay with her for anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes in the am. I can't drop her off before 7 a.m. How do I figure this out? Apparently, I have to take an hour for lunch. 3 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I'm confused about the 22 mins. If they want 40 in 4 days then that is 10hrs a day (excluding the 1 hr for lunch) then you are 4hr short? Is this a legal or policy issue? How have other people done it? [ Reply | More ]
