sensitive ones are a bit more expensive, and probably not necessary. we always used the unscented ones, the scented ones are kinda gross. pampers are better than other brands, imo. [ Reply | More ]

it takes some time to get your schedule and your circle of friends. i woh pt and find that for classes or playground trips on my days off, it is mostly nannies. but there are plenty of resources and activities. the key is to have a schedule and a plan. where are you? [ Reply | More ]

love it! so many places to meet other moms. yes there are lots of nannies everywhere, but I've found great friends through classes and new moms lunches. also some places have classes where only the parent can attend- not a caregiver. [ Reply | More ]

rutgers church 73rd & bway. I don't think it's exclusionary b/c it helps parents build a community and support network to make NYC a little more like a small town. [ Reply | More ]

There is a ton to do -- so many places that you can take your db and so many things at your fingertips. I love wheeling my little one around -- in and out of stores, through the park, etc. The hardest thing for me is that I have to make a lot of new friends -- all of my friends work and are not free before 7 pm (except for the occasional lunch). The park, classes provide opp to meet other sahm but I have not been finding many that I jive with -- in my neighborhood, most people have nannies (whether or not they work) -- which is not the lifestyle we want -- or are women who never had much of a career and the conversation is limited to usweekly and baby issues -- I think eventually I will find more people I click with -- and not that there is anything wrong with people in either of those categories -- I just don't have ton in common with them -- fine to chitchat with at the playground -- but I just get the sense we will never be close friends. The one thing I find though is that I think there is more disdain for sahms in NYC than in other places -- especially for sahms who left lucrative/interesting careers behind. [ Reply | More ]

got news for you: it doesn't get any easier as the pg progresses. I'm an exercise fanatic: I genuinely love it. But I was shocked to find I just couldn't do anything more than yoga and walking after 1st tri. Yoga died after the 2nd. I just couldn't bring myself to do it. [ Reply | More ]
