i sort of fit that mold - helped to start a small business after having first dc - am still with it almost 5 years later and will be an owner one of these days. field is direclty related to what i used to do - but slightly different. I was given the ideal opportunity by a former boss who understood I would need flexibility, etc. I worked virtually from home for years. [ Reply | More ]

Our apt. is on the market and she's not enrolled anywhere because I have no idea where we'll be living, looking in many hoods. So ideally, place to start looking for 3 days a week daycare would be near dh's work, east side from 12th-42nd st. 4 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Just get a nanny and enroll dd is a few classes. IMO, nannies are more flexible (for sickness issues) and give dd more individualized attention. You can still enroll dd is classes to socialize. Don't panic, just start interviewing:) [ Reply | More ]

try cads. IMHO it's the best daycare/preschool on the east side (it's a little higher up than you wanted, 60th street). They always seem to end up with a few families who move over the summer so there may be a last minute spot. [ Reply | More ]

make designs with the sunscreen and then they have to rub it in. you can make a smiley face. or do dots one day, squiggles the next. a caterpillar, a flower, a tree, etc. you'll end up wasting a lot of sunscreen, but you won't have to argue about it every day. [ Reply | More ]

So it wounds like they were trying to sell it themselves at that silly price, then they hired a broker who priced it appropriately (probably around what you thought it was worth in the first place) and someone beat you to the new price. The mistake here is that Sellers should have taken your name and # and called you once they agreed to the new price. [ Reply | More ]

yes, they should have. they were using a broker the whole time but it sounds like the seller was firm. it's just frustrating b/c i would have looked at it if i thought they'd consider something in the 500 range. so i'm just going to ignore prices from now on. i'll offer what i'm willing to pay. the real estate agents might hate me but i might actually end up with a house that way.
