A non-talking baby? How old is the older child? If 5 or older, I'd start with the child. [ Reply | More ]

depends on the age of my dc and the other dc. If the other dc was 4 or over and taunting my 15 mos old, I'd say something like "you know, she is too little to talk, but if she could she would tell you that she doesn't like how you are treating her" If the other child was younger than that I'd probably just move my dc out of the way [ Reply | More ]

Those who qualify for free lunch are the kids I worry about most. We donate our books to our zoned public (where a majority qualify for free lunch), we always go to their fair and spend $s, and I am trying to arrange my schedule so I can tutor there next year, but I'm sure some PTA parents at our G&T will consider me a traitor, since we don't donate much time or money to DC's school, since many parents seem to be jockeying to give the most when we have so much and other wonderful kids in our nabe really need more. no nanny - my MIL watches the kids for a short time everyday, dh is a teacher so he is at work 8/9-3/4 everyday during the school year and he opts not to work summer school so he can be SAHD during the summer months (our twins are 3 now so soon they will be in school with the same schedule as him); i work in real estate, i am slowly changing my career path and focusing on flipping houses rather than going out and selling so i can work on my own time - we also have a 9yo dd and are considering trying once more for the ds [ Reply | More ]

When people say they can't afford something, they mean they can't afford it given the other expenses they won't change and their standards for savings. If your expenses are different, you are more willing to change your spending, or have different savings requirements, you could easily afford private school. [ Reply | More ]
