[ - ] I am so frustrated, I am 9 wks pp and have been dieting working out and my weight hasn't changed any. I gained 50 lb and lost an initial 20. I thought breastfeeding helped you lose weight too? any advice, please! 10 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

i gained between 50-60 both times and don't beat yourself up. The berastfeeding is consuming a ton of calories and if you eat healthy foods - the standard veggies, lean protein, whole grain, fruit, and a TON of water - the weight will come off. Don't make yourself crazy. I think I lost all of mine without any dieting by 8 months or so and now weigh less than I did before. Maybe that's because my boobs have shrunken to the size of prunes ?! if you overdo it in the weeks pp, you actually slow your metabolism down. you have to go with what your body can do. esp if you're bfing. eat well and exercise, but be gentle with your body. 9 wks is nothing. [ Reply | More ]

Never worked for me. Gained about 40 with each. Lost 20 the first 2 weeks. Only started losing remaining 20 pounds at 1 year ppd. Nursing made me HUNGRY. [ Reply | More ]

at 9 wks you're still recovering and your hormones are still out of whack. Eat healthy food when you're hungry, exercise, and don't consider dieting until 6 mos pp. [ Reply | More ]

I have a 3 month old. I had the same frustration, but then in the last 3 weeks, so Week 11-14, I lost 6 lbs! Go figure. No exercise just nursing. So it must be a hormonal thing. Hang in there. I know it stinks. [ Reply | More ]
