Just say goodbye before she goes to bed the night before. DH travels a lot and frequently leaves before our 3 y/o wakes up in the morning. I'd kill him if he woke her up at 4 or 5 am just to say goodbye and then leave her for me to deal with. [ Reply | More ]

I'm turning 40 next week and honestly, I don't want "stuff". Take her out for a great dinner and pay for her babysitter. I want time with my friends, I don't want them to stress about stuff that I don't need or really want. My two closest friends are taking me out to dinner this weekend and I told them very clearly that I didn't want presents. [ Reply | More ]

does she have a Razor scooter? we got one of these for my dd this year when she turned 5 and she loves it. also got her a big puzzle and a dollhouse. WoodyClick (sp?) makes a pretty cool wooden dollhouse that you can build and reconfigure. It can also be broken down and stored, so you don't have a giant dollhouse sitting around. [ Reply | More ]

I hear you. I don't know the answer but in my history of seesawing weight I have found that the faster it comes off, the faster it goes back on. So I would just suggest hanging in there. Plateaus happen as your body adjusts to its new metabolism. [ Reply | More ]

Me too. But I started exercising two months ago and I feel better about my body, even though I haven't lost any weight. I just can't seem to diet. I weighed 150 lbs five yrs ago before my dcs. I thought that was bad, but now I weight 180 and it's mortifying sometimes. But I have found that every since I started exercising, I am not as self-conscious. Maybe it creates its own anti-depressant! [ Reply | More ]

I've been going more often but not killing myself each time. Every now and then I have a breakthrough workout and feel great, though tired. I am certainly feeling stronger. I was able to do a bit of a pullup on the monkey bars last night. That wouldn't have happened 2 months ago. I have lost about 5 pounds but I'm trying not to focus on the scale since muscle weighs more than fat. I think my body will work off the fat eventually. And the side benefit besides the happy brain is that I'm eating better. Don't crave as many sweets. Good luck. [ Reply | More ]

i think ww has some jump start options for those who want to start off fast or break through a plateau - one is lower carb for example. i think sometimes you have to tweak what you are doing with WW to get through these points. whether it's more acticity (wo eating those points) or more water or cutting back on carbs and replacing points with veggies, etc. [ Reply | More ]

How much do you want to lose? I was 146 at 5'9" and now weigh 135. I used Alli and it really works. You have to commit to low fat foods but it's so much easier than low carb. I run three miles a day and I've never felt better. [ Reply | More ]

I'm 53 and thought I could no longer lose weight after 3 dcs the last one in my mid 40's caused my weight to balloon up to 150. DH and I are doing this together becasue he needs to lower his cholesterol and lose 25 lbs. Alli is taken with any meal containing fat. It does not allow you to digest 25% of the fat you consume. It passes through you. [ Reply | More ]

if you don't eat more than 15 fat grams at any meal then there are none. If you eat more then you have to go to the bathroom (if the meal was dinner) the next morning with some urgency. That's it. I don't know why it gets a bad rep. If you eat a cheeseburger with fries it won't be good.... [ Reply | More ]
