[ - ] my kid puked in the pool today. they had to clear the whole thing out. but then I let him go in the baby pool. what do you think of me? (He puked because he was swallowing too much water in big pool and jumping around like nuts. Once his stomach was empty, and being in shallower water, i figured he'd be okay. And he was.) 31 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I would think that you should have been watching him and telling him to stop horsing around in the big pool and when he didn't listen... followed by the puking that you should have not 'rewarded' his behavior by allowing him to stay, but instead said, well they have to close the pool now because you vomited in it so we are going home [ Reply | More ]

You know just because there wasn't a rule posted that inconsiderate people should leave doesn't mean that you're allowed to do what you want. If your child throws up, you leave and let him rest for the day. Everyone there was watching you if they didn't leave wondering if your kid was going to throw up again. Yuk. [ Reply | More ]

OP: i should add that i caught pretty much all the puke on my chest -- he wretched and i automatically pulled him out of the water and on me -- all the puke went between us and i got out immediately and we went to shower it all off. in fact my friend who was nearby stayed in that area of the pool with all the other kids -- there was nothing IN the pool. General Topics 07.10.08, 09:02 PM Flag

no, i posted because I'm bored. also, this has nothing to do with common courtesy. my leaving the pool would not have changed the fact that he puked. and he didn't puke again. so what's the big deal? I felt bad at the time but in retrospect, I'm glad we stayed. [ Reply | More ]

well. you soudn like piece of work. It is such a PITA for everyone else when they close the pool to deal with poop and puke. It is a health hazard and is gross for other swimmers, do you wnat amedal beacsue you reported it to eh lifeguard?. No one here agrees that you should have stayed. WHile you are probably right that your kid was excited and swallowed too much pool water, it is pretty inconsiderate of you to take that risk without knowing for sure. [ Reply | More ]
