I think it is best to reread some books off the list. Tere is value in rereading. Otherwise you are teaching child that if he has already done something, he doesn't need to do it again for classwork. This leads to many problems including 1) child feeling superior and not listening, 2) child reading something too early and not getting it at the level that he would if he read it later, 3) child feeling like he doesn't need to do something for school if he has done it before (and what a child has done and thinks he has done often differ--even if they don't, the teacher might be using it for a learning purpose that neither you nor he is aware of. This is a bad habit that can hurt learning skills throughout childs life.) [ Reply | More ]

Hi I totally get it you want us to tell you that it was a mistake and that he is sorry that he said you were either fat, not sexy enough or not making his friends drool over your total womeness(is that a word?), BUT dear fellow women you already know none of that matters. You are already aware he is rude, disrespectful and not worthy of your forgiving him before he even apologizes. Men like this are not worth it he need to change and be kind and I am sorry but people are who they are. Go get the kind of life you deserve. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Okay how many people on here are Hunter parents for the fall entering K class or TT parents for the entering K class watching us G&T parents squirm and fret about certified letters and placements? I bet very few are hanging out here these days. 11 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I can't wait to not hang out here... feel half blinded by the new format, that there is some relevant discussion about G&T that I am missing somehow, so here I stay searching fruitlessly. Can't wait until it's all a done deal and I can get a life. [ Reply | More ]

fwiw, we gave up a tt for public G&T last year. df did it the year before. don't think that just because someone gets into a tt, they won't opt for a good G&T around the corner. [ Reply | More ]

In past years when decisions came out way before second or final tuition payments--maybe. For Anderson-maybe--But this year to forfeit $30K for a district G&T (not to mention go through the expense and annoyance of applying to a lot of privates in the first place) is not too likely in my estimation [ Reply | More ]

np: we gave up private for ps9 G&T last year, and lost the year's tuition. was worth it for the 6 years in front of us. there will be others like us. [ Reply | More ]

op: I was really trying to make a point in a roundabout way--I posted this in response to another post yesterday where someone was trying to use UB to determine what proportion of the 99s had done each thing and she had decided that 6% were not turning in their forms because that was how many posted that here. My point was those who were not submitting their forms were likely not hanging out here these days because they were happily settled elsewhere. Thus I was expecting a null result to my question [ Reply | More ]

I'm about the same height and feel best around 112lbs, but anywhere from 105lbs to 115lbs is probably ideal if you are slightly small boned. Anywhere up to 125lbs would be totally healthy and could look smokin' depending upon your build.... [ Reply | More ]

I'm 5'2", medium boned, and 120. Personally, I would like to be a little slimmer, but people look genuinely puzzled when I say this. I'm definitely curvy, though, which I guess is why I carry it so well. No VBA! Just the way it is. [ Reply | More ]
