[ - ] posted earlier today about how I'm pg, been sick and working full time all week, db is having serious allergy problem, and DH who has been away the whole week, is going to atlantic city tomorrow with friends. Hired a sitter for part of tomorrow, but also asked dhtonight to please go another weekend and he refused, says I'm trying to control all his free time. Refuses to even get up early with db tomorrow. Just have to vent. 19 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

So him treating you this way is a new thing, or has he always been like this to you? If it's new, you need to find a way to make sure you will not accept it. You two are a team and the children are both of your responsibilities. He can not simply state he isn't going to help. He has to. If this is the way he's always been, then you might need to go to counseling. Either way, make it a priority to schedule non-kid time for yourself and let him take the kids. [ Reply | More ]

really? that can cause chest pain as well? I will mention this to my doctor. If you have a disc issue, could it hurt for a long time, or would it eventually get better? [ Reply | More ]
General Topics 05.23.08, 05:19 PM Flag
»
well, it could hurt for years, or forever, or it could get better. If there's impingement on the nerves from a disc out of place then p/t sometimes helps realign things and releases the impingement. Or could be inflammation and the swelling is causing the nerve to be pinched. Try an anti-inflammatory (Advil). See a neuro, may send you for an MRI of your neck. Yes, it could cause chest pain as well. But it depends on the kind of chest pain - dh just had this as well, was having trouble breathing b/c it hurt his chest. Turns out it's herniated discs in his neck and upper back [ Reply | More ]
General Topics 05.23.08, 05:23 PM Flag

wow, this is so interesting! the pain in my chest often seems to travel to my upper back and shoulder too. This could be the cause of all my chronic pains (at least it is worth looking into!) I've had chest xrays, EKGs, bloodwork, an echocardiagram, a mammogram... this actually makes sense. Thanks [ Reply | More ]

neuro mom: can't give you a diagnosis over UB obviously, but is mostly likely due to a disc in your neck. Call your MD, but if you get sudden severe pain in neck, or other weakness/numbness, trouble controlling urine or stool, go to the ED. [ Reply | More ]

probably won't get worse, but I'd avoid any heavy exercise, and resist the temptation to have a chiropracter manipulate your neck without having an MRI first to see what the problem is. [ Reply | More ]

He was always very 'intense' (his ped's word), even when he was an infant. We didn't really know until he was 3 yo, and started preschool. He obsesses about things like vacuum cleaners or his socks, weird stuff like that. And he can't function very well in large groups of children - he can play one-on-one, but in a classroom setting, or at a party or a playground, he sort of goes in a shell. He is in a special needs class now. He is diagnosed with Asperger's. [ Reply | More ]

I used to find the evenings very difficult also - also feared night time when db #2 was up often - I could never bring myself to CIO. Not that this helps you right now...but the end is in sight. If you're evil then I'm the devil himself. I feel/do the same things you do and I only have 1 db and DH is home every night. You're just in an extreme situation, with lots of stress and unfortunately don't have the means to get support. Other than cio I'm sorry I don't have any advice but hopefully you'll feel better knowing you're not the only one who feels like this. [ Reply | More ]
